This Alabama real estate agent is parodying Shunnarah billboards
Huntsville-based real estate agent Matt Curtis just upped the billboard game. He took on personal injury attorneys known for their expert and copious use of roadside advertising and people can’t stop laughing.
So far, Curtis has spoofed the firm Wettermark & Keith, as well as Alexander Shunnarah, who is so well known for saturating the billboard market that people created a “count the billboards” travel game based on his advertisements.
A post on Curtis’ Facebook page Tuesday, accompanied by photos of his Wettermark and Keith spoof, alerted the public: “Keep an eye out for our parody billboards all around town! They might just make you do a DOUBLE take!” The emphasis on “double” is a pun; two copies of Curtis’ face appear side-by-side on the board to mimic the layout of the Wettermark & Keith ad.

A few hours later, a photo of the Shunnarah spoof appeared on Curtis’ Facebook page accompanied by the comment: “No representation has been made that the quality of our sense of humor is greater than the quality of other companies throughout the Huntsville area.” The Shunnarah spoof billboard is located on Interstate 565 in Huntsville. Both spoofs appear atop the attorneys’ billboards.
“We were just wanting to do something fun for the holidays and give people something fun to look at while they were driving,” Curtis said.
Commenters seem to appreciate the humor, saying things like:
· “This is the funniest billboard I’ve seen – ever.”
· “You win billboard of the year.”
· “Now that’s funny.”
· “You win the internet.”
